5. Regardless of which region in New York you call home, immigrant and refugree issues are likely on the forefront of conversations in your community. This week NYS Comptroller, Thomas DiNapoli, released a report called “A Portrait of Immigrants in New York” which revealed that our state is home to the second-largest number of immigrants in the country at 22% of our population.
