Signature Programming

Expand your knowledge. Our range of programming seeks to expand our members’ current understanding of topics core to their work and extend their network with other colleagues around New York State. Our events create space for engaging discussions, workshops, and webinars, to keep members abreast of the latest philanthropic trends, research, and resources.

  • Signature Events:The annual NYS Funders Conference convenes over 150 funders from across New York State to network, learn from each other, and consider new approaches that can improve community outcomes throughout the state.
  • Educational Sessions and Workshops: Collaborative learning programs, skill-building workshops, and networking opportunities on issues that shape philanthropy and impact your work such as race and equity, public policy, and innovative practices.
  • Topical Webinars and Member Calls: Virtual sessions like our annual “Grantmaker Toolkit Series” bring content experts to our network and provide opportunities for colleagues around the state to learn from, and with, each other.

Networking

Cultivate a strong peer network. NY Funders Alliance has members across all regions in New York, allowing you to tap into a vast, thriving philanthropic network. Trustees, chief executives, and program and administrative staff at all levels have a safe space to share ideas, challenges, and best practices.

  • Public Policy Updates. Link to national and statewide resources and conversations
  • Legislative Support and Philanthropic Representation. We lead and collaborate with like-minded organizations to advocate for, and advance, public policies that promote philanthropy and a vibrant nonprofit sector. NY Funders Alliance also leads a NY delegation to Foundations on the Hill, a two-day event that brings together hundreds of foundation leaders from across the country to meet with Congress and discuss issues of critical importance to philanthropy
  • Philanthropy & Public Policy Fellowship. This signature initiative focuses on increasing philanthropic collaborations in New York as well as being a conduit for grantmakers to engage in and learn about local, state, and federal policy
