What does NY Funders Alliance do?
We support funders throughout eight regions of New York State by:
- convening members for meetings and programming offered across the state through multiple platforms – in person, webinars, and teleconferences.
- providing a wide range of resources, tools, and services to promote effective philanthropy
- hosting an annual funders meeting and biennial conference
- creating spaces for engaged networking between members
- coordinating research on behalf of foundations around shared priorities
- acting as a voice for upstate New York philanthropy on identified issues
Who Can Join?
Full membership is open to the following organizations:
- Charitable Trusts
- Corporate Foundations & Giving Programs
- Community Foundations
- Donor-Advised Fund Advisors
- Federated Funds
- Government Agencies that make grants to 501(c)(3) organizations
- Individuals/Families who donate $5,000 or more a year to multiple organizations
- Public Foundations and Grantmaking Public Charities
(e.g. United Ways, Art Councils, Junior Leagues) - Private Foundations (Family and Independent)
- Religious and Religious-Affiliated Foundations
- Organized Giving Circles
Associate Membership is available for philanthropic advisors from:
- Law firms
- Bank Trust Offices and Wealth Management Departments
- CPA/Accounting Services
- Other Philanthropic Services
Benefits of Membership
NY Funders Alliance is an association of grantmakers and philanthropic advisors throughout New York State. We develop and provide opportunities for funders to convene and connect, deliver tools and resources, and engage our members in programming that highlights national, state, and regional thought leaders that focus on issues members care about.
The challenges and opportunities facing the philanthropic sector are significant. In the midst of this complex environment, we provide a forum where funders can forge partnerships and, through us, work collectively to address many issues confronting our community.
