- A now iconic photo of three-year-old Syrian boy, Aylan Kurdi, washed up dead on a Turkish beach appeared in media outlets across the world in September 2015. Now, a new study finds that the photo had a greater impact on fundraising efforts for Syrian refugees than hundreds of thousands of deaths. Many find the photo deeply disturbing and emotionally triggering, but the visual undoubtedly had a profound impact — not only on fundraising which increased 100-fold. Read the Full Story Here.
