2. Since its inception, Independent Sector has remained steadfast in its resolve to preserve and protect the charitable deduction. They believe that this unique provision in our tax code unlocks limitless potential for the charitable sector and the communities we serve and represent. 3. Included in the Winter 2017 issue of Philanthropy magazine from the Philanthropy Roundtable, Karl Zinsmeister (who spoke to our members in Tompkins County in October 2016) offers a roadmap to success, no matter what unfolds in Washington. His article, How Private Givers Can Rescue America in an Era of Political Frustration, looks at historical trends as guide for finding success in current times. Read the Full Story Here.
4. As of January 1, 2017 the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers (of which NY Funders Alliance is a member) formally started accepting memberships from national philanthropy-serving organizations (PSOs). So far in 2017 they have welcomed nine new national PSO members to their new, expanded network. See the Full List Here.
5. SAVE THE DATE: The NY Funders Alliance is excited to offer a webinar with representatives from JP Morgan Chase on February 9th at 2pm. The webinar will provide an overview of the financial outlook for 2017 and how it impacts funders. Stay tuned for a full webinar summary and details on how to register.
