Open Road Alliance is seeking to bring conversations about nonprofit risk management into philanthropic discussion, as the risks associated with fund-seeking projects are often not considered proactively, hurting not only nonprofit projects, but communities as well.
- This article from Inside Philanthropy analyzes a report from the Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation in NYC discussing shortcomings in the investment advisor community with respect to addressing social justice issues. - The House passed a measure Thursday to block the IRS from using funds revoking the tax-exempt status of churches that participate in political campaigns. The legislation limits the agency from rescinding the groups’ tax-exempt status and requires the express approval of the IRS commissioner to do so.
