1. Many believe that fundraising for political campaigns steals support from charitable causes. So, in years of high political giving (like 2016’s record-breaking year), many nonprofits might be worried about meeting their year end goals. IDEO designed the first mouse for an Apple computer and has become nearly synonymous with “human-centered design” — creating products and services in a way that puts users and their needs at the forefront. In 2011, the firm launched a nonprofit arm, IDEO.org, with a mission to apply human-centered design to alleviating poverty.
