December is here which means it is time to renew your NY Funders Alliance membership for the upcoming year! Every single member contributes to the strength of our network and we value your ongoing commitment to the NY Funders Alliance.
Membership in a Regional Association is critically important to the work your organization does every day. We strive to serve as a trusted resource, valued partner, and informed advocate for your grantmaking priorities both regionally and nationally. We act as a convener by providing key programs and a champion on behalf of the work you’re already doing.
We also have several big events and programs coming up in 2017 that you will be able to take advantage of through your membership. In the first quarter of 2017 we aim to launch the members-only resources on our website which we believe will become an integral part of your own programming and grantmaking. In March, we will participate in Foundations on the Hill and bring members to our nation’s capital for meetings with legislators around issues pertinent to your work. In November we will hold our biennial conference in Buffalo (save the date for November 13th – 15th) and convene grantmakers for multiple days of learning sessions, speakers, and networking opportunities. Additionally, we will maintain our existing level of programming each month including in-person events, webinars, and teleconferences.
Your membership in the NY Funders Alliance is the foundation for our work to promote philanthropic advocacy and increase grantmaking’s impact within our eight region footprint. This impact is enhanced by our membership in the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers, which connects us to national resources, conversations, and change makers and increases the effectiveness of our own work. This broad fabric of philanthropic advocacy and collegiality benefits each of our 88 members tremendously.
